Canyon Country is located in the City of Santa Clarita and situated to the east, but it’s quite spread out and the map doesn’t really accurately display it’s borders. Just like most communities, there are older and newer neighborhoods and each has their own pros and cons. Of course, using the Santa Clarita trail systems, residents of Canyon Country are easily connected to their sister communities of Valencia, Saugus and Newhall, no motor vehicles necessary. In recent years, there have been plenty of new housing developments as well as new commercial areas. Most, but not all of this new development has occurred on the east side of the 14 freeway and it’s currently still in progress. There are plenty of restaurants, department stores, home improvement stores, and some very highly regarded schools.
